Our Position

We reject disposable culture.

We create objects meant to remain.

Fewer things. Better made.

Longer kept.

The average European household throws away over 30 kg of plastic packaging every year. Most of it was designed to be used once. We didn't inherit this habit — we were sold it. Nexwald is a return to the older logic: buy something made well, use it for decades, pass it on.

This is not minimalism. This is not a trend.
This is a permanent position against waste.

Designed against
disposability.

A plastic straw is used for 15 minutes. It persists for 200 years. A disposable cup — used once, landfilled forever. We've built an entire economy around things meant to be thrown away.

Nexwald exists to reverse that logic. Every product we carry is chosen for one reason: it's the last one you'll ever need to buy.

Why these materials?
Here's the science.

Every material we work with was chosen for a reason — not aesthetics alone, but real, measurable advantages over disposable alternatives.

Material 01
Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is one of the most circular materials on Earth. The World Steel Association reports that over 85% of steel is recycled at end of life — more than any other material. Unlike plastic, it can be recycled indefinitely without any loss of quality or strength.

  • Carbon footprint offset after ~6 months of use (Int. Journal of LCA, 2021)
  • Zero BPA, phthalates or microplastics — confirmed by EU EFSA
  • Lifespan 20–50 years vs. 1–3 uses for plastic (WRAP UK, 2020)
  • 88% global recycling rate — highest of any material (World Steel Association, 2023)
  • No odours, bacteria or stains — dishwasher safe for life

Material 02
Bamboo

Bamboo is the fastest-growing plant on Earth — some species grow up to 91 cm per day. It reaches full maturity in 3–5 years, compared to 25–70 years for hardwood trees. It requires no replanting, no pesticides, and no irrigation beyond rainfall.

  • Sequesters 1.78 t CO₂/hectare/year — on par with tropical forests (Nature Sustainability, 2019)
  • 35% more oxygen produced than equivalent tree area (FAO, 2010)
  • Natural antibacterial agent (bamboo kun) — no chemicals needed (J. Natural Fibres, 2018)
  • Tensile strength of 28,000 psi — stronger than many steel alloys by weight
  • Biodegrades in 2–6 months — plastic takes 400+ years
Material 03
Natural Materials

Before plastic was invented in 1907, everything was made from materials the Earth provided. Organic cotton, beeswax, cork, hemp and wood are not alternatives to modern materials — they are the originals. And they still outperform plastic in longevity, safety, and end-of-life impact.

  • Organic cotton: 91% less water, 62% less energy than conventional (Soil Association, 2019)
  • Cork bark harvested without cutting — tree lives 200+ years absorbing CO₂ (WWF, 2018)
  • One beeswax wrap replaces ~1,000 sheets of cling film
  • Hemp harvest-ready in 90–120 days, zero pesticides (EIHA, 2022)
  • All fully biodegradable — return to soil, not landfill

Nature-inspired.
Future-focused.

Nexwald was built on a simple conviction: the products we use every day should work with nature, not against it. We carefully select only what meets our standards for material integrity, durability, and genuine environmental benefit.

Based in Frankfurt, we ship across Europe — helping households step away from single-use culture, one product at a time.

"Buy once. Use with care.
Keep forever."
